Here are the usual Catholic wedding vows. Read them for yourself: • Marriage Vows • I (...), take you (...) to be my husband/ wife. I promise to be true to you in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health. I will love you and honor you all the days of my life. Or I (...), take you (...) for my lawful husband/ wife, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do us part. Or In the name of God, I (...) take you (...) to be my husband/ wife, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, until we are parted by death. This is my solemn vow. Notice there is nothing about 'obeying.' • Exchange of Rings • (...), take this ring as a sign of my love and fidelity. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. With love in Christ. |
