Question: Do straight women still say love, honor and obey in their wedding vows because i thought that was in the bible?

If so, all denominations, just some, or by choice? And did it change to accommodate women's rights? Was the Bible rewritten or was it never really there? Obey being the operative word. No reason to be rude. The Queen of England said those words in her vows, and it was in the King James version, or perhaps some subsequent liturgy. I just wondered, that's all. Thank you, Michael.

It sounds to me like you have never read the bible and the bible has never been changed even though humans do.

It depends on the denomination. Perhaps Baptists say this, I don't know. But even in the old Service Book and Hymnal of 1958, among Lutherans, "obey " was not used. I don't think many women have been asked to obey their husbands for a long time. The actual words used about wives in Ephesians 5 and Colossians 4 imply "being sent under " but not slavish obedience. Children in these passages are told to obey, as are slaves (!). But not wives.
