Question: Shouldn´t wedding music in a church or chapel be played to give glory to god-not for the bride and groom?

Shouldn´t wedding music in a church or chapel be played to give glory to God- not for the bride and groom´s enjoyment. I think a lot of brides choose the music that is played for the enjoyment of those attending, and not for God- which is what I have always been taught. When I sang in a church choir, we were taught that we were singing for God- NOT for those attending church. What are your thoughts?

The act of holy matrimony was given by God for the benefit of people and as such it is quite appropriate for musical selections to be an option of the participants. It's fine to sing for God. It's fine to play music for God. God also wants us to glean enjoyment from His creation.

When I get married it's not for "god ". I get married for myself and my fiance. I'll play whatever music I darn well please. Especially if I have to pay for the place I'm getting married in.

I think it is the bride and grooms choice. They paid for the time it is not a Church service it is a wedding ceremony.

Really ought to be music that means somehting for the couple. As long as it's not anti-Xian there ought not to be an issue... .
