Question: What is your favorite wedding music?
(Posted by: rose p on 2006-08-03 20:45:05)
My brother's friend and his fiance are planning their wedding. We were discussing music, hyms, songs Bridal marches etc. My choice was "Oh perfect love all human thoughts trancending' Nothing was decided. What would your choice be? Catholic or protestant. High church or homely or even secular registry or civil celebrant any music. The groom to be suggested " The day Thou Gavest Lord is e...d " and wasgiven a swift smack. With love, RoseP. |

A sad attempt of death metal on only a piano, a violin and a snare drummer. It could be done, but it would be insanely weird. |

I still love the slightly hippie song "There is Love " I think Peter Paul and Mary recorded it and there was a time in the70's that it seemed like every wedding had it. |

My wife and I included a piano solo of Third Day's song "All the Heavens " on their first worship album. It's beautiful. As we walked out, everyone sang "Shout to the Lord " |

Annie's Song by John Denver You fill up my senses like a night in the forest, like the mountains in springtime, like a walk in the rain, like a storm in the desert, like a sleepy blue ocean. You fill up my senses, come fill me again. Come let me love you, let me give my life to you, let me drown in your laughter, let me die in your arms, let me lay down beside you, let me always be with you. Come let me love you, come love me again. |

OOOOOH OOOOH OOOH!!!!! Pachelbel's Canon in D played by a string quartet!!!! Gorgeous!!!!! My parents had "One Hand, One Heart " " from West Side Story sung at their wedding. Or maybe "All I Ask of You " from Phantom of the Opera. "Say you'll share with me one love, one lifetime.... " Or "From this Moment On " by Shania Twain and (I think perhaps) Garth Brooks (?). |

Right before the ceremony, "Something Good " by Utah Saints. Right after, "Praise You " by Fatboy Slim. That's seriously what I got married to! :-) |

I would choose a flute duet to play classical pieces to keep guests entertained as the time passes. I HATE the Bridal Chorus written by Richard Wagner and the one written by Mendelssohn. I'd love to work in Beau Soir by Claude Debussy somewhere in the ceremony. It's a very dreamy piece of music for the tenor saxophone. For my bridal song I'd like the first 1:53 min of Adagio et Rondo by Jean Baptiste Singelee on the tenor saxophone. I'd have to find another song for the rest of the party members but at the end when I leave I'd like a trio of saxophones playing some classic jazz tunes. Just having fun and doing whatever. Improving if they want with a piano. |
