Question: Are wedding favors pretty popular?

Hello all I was wondering if wedding favors are popular in this day and age. I've only been to one wedding but it was outside the country. There didn't seem to be that many so I'm not sure. I was thinking of getting some from http:/ / centerpiecesandfavors.com which has a lot of interesting and elegant stuff but if there are other options like wedding boutiques that would be better. I'm the best man for a wedding and am helping in the setup process. HELP!

They are quite common. Does the wedding itself have a theme? It's nice to follow that if there is one - or to do something related to the couples' interests. I've also seen a donation made in lieu of favors and a note to this effect put on the table.

Typically, weddings give a favor at the reception as sort of a thank you for the gift or for coming. I have seen favors used as place settings at the reception or just on a table as a take on. Personally I like the place setting idea, it's more elegant. The favor itself does not have to be anything big, it can be as simple as customized M &M's or I've even seen can huggies that are cutomized with the wedding date and names. Hope this helps!
