Question: Is it wrong to wear a white wedding dress if i'm not pure?

I am a Christian (Pentecostal) and I know that a white dress symbolizes virginity and purity. I lost my virginity but repented and stopped having sex. Is it still alright to wear a white dress? If not what color?

Just wear the stupid white dress. If you are going to wear another color, you might as well just wear a sign around your neck with SLUT written on it.

90% if not more of the brides in this country wear a white dress and I can tell you that they are not pure. in todays' society.. this is the norm. it is a wedding tradition to wear white. 2 things: you wear white like you can wear white.. you don't need to discuss or justify why you wear it by not wearing white, you are displaying to everyone what you did.. which is a private issue between you and God and your spouse. no need to announce it to the world.

White is a societal thing not a religous thing. In fact, wearing white used to be pretty tacky about 100 or so years ago. White is a new fad. Go for a Royal Blue. It's always lovely in royal blue. White is not some secret ancient symbol for anything. White was actually worn at funerals up until about 100 years ago.

I honestly have no idea where the white = virginity symbolism comes from. The tradition of the bride wearing white comes from Queen Victoria. A huge white gown is very impractical. The bride will almost certainly never wear the dress again. The white dress is a show of wealth and prosperity.

Despite what most people think, the white wedding dress does *not* symbolize virginity or "purity ". White became a popular color after Queen Victoria wore a white dress in her wedding to Prince Albert. In an attempt to seem more sophisticated and aristocratic, women in the middle class began to mimic their Queen by wearing white in their weddings. Before this, wedding gowns were any color the bride wanted. So, in lieu of that, wear whatever you want and don't be bound by a stupid tradition. If you want to wear white, wear white.

Since it would be your choice as to what you wear at your wedding, I am sure that it is ok for you to wear a white dress... For it is only a tradition that the brides wear white that comes from a time when 99% of the women that got married were virgins... Well that time is long gone and never to return so please by all means wear white and your wedding along with something old and something blue.....

I think the absolute minority of brides that wear a white wedding gown are virgins. The virgin thing is from another time when there was on divorcement at all
