Question: Does it make a difference that wedding bands were originally a tribute to a gay demi-god?

It's true... before Christianity came to Rome, people were getting married... And at these ceremonies, it was common for couples to place a ring on their thumbs as a tribute to the bondage of Prometheus (their closest figure to "Jesus " at the time...) Prometheus was rescued from his bondage by Heracles and they lived in secrecy on the back side of Mt. Olympus for many years together... So do you think that Prop 8 would have passed before American Christianity laid claim to the institution of marriage? |

Oh no, the thing is that most Americans have no clue about history, hell they don't even seem to understand the present world around them |

See, the problem is that you are reading. People who believe in such fantasies don't read much. You have to tell them in as few words as possible what you want them to learn and believe. Usually add the words faith and Jesus and you can get them to vote almost any way you want them too. Kind of makes me wonder why I don't start Mormon and Christian churches myself and cash in on all that fools money. |

Prop 8 shouldn't have passed it wouldn't have passed without the religious believers who lied, the bigotry, intolerance and stupidity of many people it isn't only US christians but christians all-over sadly - many are ignorant |

Oh, my God! I'll have to rip this ring from my finger and fling it into an abyss, if I can find one! I will have to decontaminate my finger by boiling it for twenty minutes in steaming water! On second thought, it has a pretty large diamond, probably ripped from the earth by some African slave. I might be able to pawn it for enough money to join a Gay Protest. Then, too, there's the gold! I can afford to find Arnold and kick him in the shins for accusing Obama of having skinny legs. Thanks for this information! My new life begins! |
