How do most nascar drivers get to the races?

Question: How do most nascar drivers get to the races?

Just curious. By private plane? Hauler? Other?

For most events the drivers and crew members fly into a local airport, then take a rental car or van to the track. Many of the top teams, as well as some drivers, own their own planes. At the conclusion of the race, the drivers, owners, and many crew chiefs will leave the track by helicopter to avoid traffic, then fly back home. Pit crew members with will either fly commercial or on their team plane. Usually the hauler only has its driver and maybe one other crew member aboard. For events closer to their homes, like Martinsville and Charlotte, drivers will either take a helicopter from the track or simply drive home.

A year and a half ago, I was driving on Interstate 70 between Columbus and Indianapolis. There had been a Nascar race at the Indy racetrack the previous day and I saw some of the Nascar trucks driving the cars down 70 in the other direction. That means the cars usually get transported that way. The drivers themselves probably ride with them.

Probably by plane or helicopter. Carl has his own plane, Denny flies. D.W. said he used to ride on the interstates hiways because he didn't want to fly. I think it would be a drag if your ears popped from high altitude and then you had to get in a race car.

I think they fly private to a nearby airport and then helicopter or drive to the track. One year while I leaving the Martinsville race, I saw Robby Gordon was driving his motor home out of the track! I thought that was funny. You'd think after 500 laps at the paper clip, he'd want someone else to drive that big thing fighting all that race traffic.

Im pretty sure that the drivers either fly in on their own private plane or ride in the team plane. Most of the drivers this week stayed out on the west coast instead of flying back to N.C.

Corporate or personal jets

Most of the bigger names have their own planes. The ones who don't probably rely on their team or go with other driver friends.

Most of them have some fine bucktooth women that drives them there (wink wink)
