Does it affect me? Well, I can say that it does through the way I listen to music. Does it affect others? Yes, it does. Does it affect them positively? Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. It depends on how far you take it. Some people start calling themselves "gangsters " and think it's cool, and some just enjoy certain aspects of hip hop.

People are forgetting the meaning of Hip - hop like the artists. I understand how they express themselves but too many unnecessary curse words and such. Its just not hip hop anymore.

In my younger teen years. It effected me negatively, mainly because I hated the hip-hop. For some reason I could not like it and ironically I was persecuted for not liking hip-hop. However as I grew(and had some recommendation of genuine 'GOOD' hip-hop songs rather than the shit I was force-fed by what I hear people in school listen too. I actually began to truly enjoy it. The beats were catchy and the vocals even if most are not complicated or they are just the cliche 'smack a hoe get some money' they work great as samples for electronic music. So now-a-days most of my electronic songs have hip-hop influences or hip-hop vocal samples. I also tend to mix some of the more popular dances(c-walk and break dancing more often) with my general dancing. It is also help me come to the conclusion there is no such thing as bad genres, just bad music. If you search, you can find a good song in any genre. Thanks to this now-a-days I listen to almost every genre as long as the song is good. so all in all, yeah it effected me positively. Sadly I can't say the same for most people.

Before when I listened to hip hop and rap, I actually thought it was cool to have my pants sagging around my ass, to curse, etc. Metal is better if you ask me

It effects my swag, my style somewhat, I don't really dance though.
