What do artists like lil' wayne, ti, flo rider contribute to the hip hop culture....?

Question: What do artists like lil' wayne, ti, flo rider contribute to the hip hop culture....?

(Posted by: yourbestnightmare on 2009-06-26 13:20:35)

Please refrain from saying these do represent hip hop, cuz the reality is they do, they reflect just one element. My question how have they contributed in terms of the direction hip hop is going now?

They contribute to dance hits, and 1 hit wonders. Hip-Hop has kinda died done on the dancing club hits before these guys came. Flo Rider is bumped at every club in America.

T.I. has come along way and he has been on top of the game for years I thinck about 3 or 4 more albums for T.I. and He should be considered a Hip Hop legend in my opinion. He has helped the game out a lot by keepin Hip Hop on the map with his new Paper Trail album which sold more than 568,000 on its first week and up to date has sold more than 2,000,000 world wide and same goes for wayne but i thinck T.I. is much better than Lil wayne. but Lil wayne also helped keep Hip Hop on the map with his 1st week sales of over 1 million. T.i. lyrical ability is awsome but i thinck T.I. is still hiding something from us Paper Trail was a really good album i would say the best Hip Hop album of 2008 but i know T.I. still has that 40% of his hip hop skills that he isnt using and gets better every album he drops. Maybe when T.I. drops his 7th studio album he will show 70% and keep going up as he drops albums maybe he can even bust thru that 100% and still keep getting better and better. rappers like jadakiss and scarface are good. and yes i would say their legends. but T.I. has the ability to reach out to millions of people thru albums, and show his good lyrical ability and still be to be commircial,. But rappers like scarface and jadakiss have really good lyrical ability and the dont sell as much as T.I. and T.I. can rap with really good wordplay and lyrics and still attract people to buy his albums thats the role T.I. plays in Hip-Hop also goes for Lil Wayne. But in my opinion T.I. is better and Kanye west to . Edit: as for Flo-Rida i thinck he just makes club music. nothing special their. maybe in the future he can do better

Putting Flo Rider in the conversation with them two is laughable. Lil Wayne doesnt have my favorite radio music, but if you listen to his mixtapes they are by far the best of all time. T.I. has his own swag and doesnt rap like anybody else, and the people in his camp are talented as well such as Young Dro. Flo Rider is wack, you cant say them in the same sentence. Wayne has fell off recently, but he is a legend, been around since the mid 90s.
