If you've got enough time, money and skills, then anything is possible. If you do a search on Bing or Google you'll find dozens of Chevelles that have been converted to 4x4s. |

If they have, Chevrolet has not released the news to any one else and I can find no rumors in the auto world type press circles either. |

That's not true at all. One could make a Chevelle into a 4x4 but how redneck would that be! |

I know of nothing of a 4x4 being made stock, but if you wanted to make one, you'd have to replace most of the front end and install a transfer case to the transmission. Now depending on whether you just want 4 wheel drive, or a hardcore off road machine, that'd influence exactly whatd you do. For a hardcore off road machine, I'd get a solid front axle installed, like a Dana 60, and probably upgrade your rear axle as well. Then you can lift them pretty easily, as its mostly just blocks between the axle and leaf springs. If you just want 4 wheel drive for a daily driver, you could always try swapping a suspension off a blazer 4x4 or an s10 4x4. Making them fit or work would be a hell of a task, but very possible. The first option would be the easiest, but with a solid front axle, its going to affect your turning/ handling, and ride quality. On the brightside though, a solid front axle is a much stronger set up. The second option is alot more difficult, but wouldn't have those 2 issues. |
