Question: How do you change the focal point in a kodak digital camera??

Ok so i have a kodak 8.0 digital camera, i dont know how to change the focal length and i think that might be why my pics arent working very well. So i am trying to get a really close up photo with the backround blurred but whenever i try to do this the backround ALWAYS comes out clear and the thing i want clear turns out blurry, how do i fix this?????????????????

Without knowing exactly which Kodak camera you have no one can fully help you. You are taking close up photos and want a blurred background so heres what you need The widest lens your camera allows The largest aperture your camera allows The closest focus your camera allows The problem is even if you set all that you still might not get a blurred background from a point n shoot. It has to do with optics and sensor size. Many point n shoots dont give you choices for aperture. If yours only has "Auto " shooting mode you cant select your aperture. If you do get some blurred background it wont be like the photos you see in magazines or photo exhibitions. If you had included the model number I would have checked a manual to see what your camera might be able to do. Maybe if you add the info someone can better help you.

Care to indicate which model is your camera? Generally speaking, to blur the background you will need to zoom i, increase the distance between the subject and the background and use a small aperture. Not many Kodak cameras are this flexible.
