Question: Can you use a digital camera printer as a regular one also?

It can make pics 8 1/ 2 by 11 and it is big. I cant remember the brand name though...

Yes, you can use your 8.5 " wide printer as a regular printer. Just load it with plain paper and change the printing settings to plain paper. It won't use any more ink than it needs if you do that. The smaller, dedicated photo printers cannot be used for regular printing. They are designed just to make 4x6 " prints or some other fixed size.

You can, but normally, they're optimized to use more ink, so in turn, you'd be using more ink than a normal printer.

The cost of ink is so high with photo printers, it is much more cost effective to use a standard printer for all printing but photos If you buy a nice inexpensive printer/ copier/ scanner you will have all your bases covered
