None of the above. You are looking at strictly photo only limited size printers which I consider not good buys for the money. You should be loooking at good quality entry level photo quality printers which will print at least on an 8 1/ 2 " x 11 " sheet if needed. The best entry level printer I have ever owned, is an HP Photosmart 8250. It is an older model which is no longer available, but HP makes several printers that have the same features starting at just over $100. The Photosmart D7260 would be a good starter. There are several other HP models which also use the 02 print cartridge system available that you can check out on the HP webstie. Here are the features you should look for: #1 - A printer that uses the 02 ink cartridge series. These printers use 6 relatively inexpensive ink cartridges which will not only produce a far wider range of color tones than any single tri-color ink cartridge machine can, but are far more economical to use because when you replace ink, you only have to replace the color that is empty, not an expensive tri-color cartridge that is out of magenta ink but still has pleanty of cyan and yellow ink left in it which you can't use. #2 - a printer which has camera card slots which will allow you to print directly from your camera without needing to be connected to your computer, but will also allow you to connect to your computer so that you can use some of the more flexable photo retouching programs and print standard sized documents from other programs like Publisher and Word Forget the Canon and Epson printers you have been looking at. They are just not up to the quality level of the entry level HP printers. If money is really no object, you might consider a real professional quality printer like the Epson 3800, 4800 7800, 9800, or 11800 series printers but they start at over $2500.00, not everybody's cup of tea (I use the 9880 in my business for most of my color printing). |
